Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
   
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hose clamps -3094-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Locking pin -3204-
t  Pin wrench -3212-
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-, see equivalence → Anchor

   
Front-end service sleeves -3369-
Removal:
–  Remove front bumper → Body - outer assembly work; Rep. gr. 63
–  Move lock carrier to service position → Body - outer assembly work; Rep. gr. 50 .
–  Install the ribbed belt → 4 cylinder of the engine. (2.0l 4V, TDI Common Rail); Rep. gr. 13
–  Remove poly V-belt from power steering pump pulley.

–  Disconnect the supply and return fuel lines with the -3094- hose clamp.
–  Place catch vessel below to catch hydraulic oil running out.
–  Remove suction line.
–  Disconnect pressure hose (22 mm).

–  Unscrew belt pulley on vane pump, for this purpose use two-hole nut driver 3212 as counterholder.
–  Unscrew front mounting bolts on vane pump → Item from subframe.
–  Unscrew mounting bolt → Itemarrow at rear of vane pump.
–  Take out the vane pump.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
t  Renew gaskets and seals.
t  Before installing a new pump, fresh CHF 202 hydraulic oil must be added: Assignment → Spare parts catalogue on the intake side of hydraulic oil and manually turn pump until oil runs out on pressure side.
t  Secure all hose connections with new hose clips. → Spare parts catalogue
–  Manually turn belt pulley until oil runs out on pressure side.
–  Fit pump on bracket.
–  Screw front mounting bolts into vane pump and tighten to specified tightening torque → Item.
–  Screw mounting bolts into vane pump at rear and tighten to specified tightening torque → Item.
–  Mount new oil seals on the banjo bolt.
–  Tighten hollow bolt on pressure hose to specified tightening torque → Item
–  Install suction hose. Installation position → Chapter

–  Screw belt pulley to vane pump and tighten bolts to specified tightening torque → Item.
–  Install the ribbed belt → 4 cylinder of the engine. (2.0l 4V, TDI Common Rail); Rep. gr.13
When fitting the belt, ensure that it is correctly seated on the pulleys.
–  Install lock carrier → Body - outer assembly work; Rep. gr.50
–  Install front bumper → Body - outer assembly work; Rep. gr. 63
–  Fill the hydraulic oil system: Allocation: → Parts catalogue
–  Start engine and check that belt runs properly.
–  Check hydraulic fluid level → Chapter.
–  Vent the steering system. → Chapter
–  Check steering system for leaks → Chapter.
