Checking hydraulic fluid level of power-assisted steering
Checking hydraulic fluid level of power-assisted steering
–  Bring front wheels to straight-ahead position (do not start engine).
–  Unscrew reservoir cap with fitted dipstick.
  Note
The fluid level must be in the corresponding range of the grid when cap is screwed on.
–  Check fluid level when

cold: the fluid level must be in the “cool” range on the grid. Top up fluid -G 002 000- if necessary.
at operating temperature (approx. 50 ° C): the fluid level must be in the “hot” range on the grid. Top up fluid -G 002 000- if necessary.
  Note
If fluid level has fallen below the grid range in question, the power-assisted steering must be checked (repair measure). It is not sufficient just to top up with fluid. → Fault finding, Running gear; No. 10; Faults in power steering
