Removing and installing switch elements in door trims
Depending on the equipment, the switch elements in the door trims contain the following pushbuttons:
Driver side:
t  Front left window regulator switch -E40-
t  Driver side interior locking button for central locking system -E308-
t  Mirror adjustment switch -E43-
Front passenger side:
t  Front right window regulator switch -E41-
  Note
t  The switch element on the driver side must be removed before the interior central locking button on driver side -E308- and the mirror adjuster switch -E43- can be removed or installed.
t  The front left window regulator switch -E40- or the front right window regulator switch -E41- can be removed without the switch element having to be removed first.
t  When removing and installing components that are in view (switches, covers, trim and so on), mask off areas in which tools (removal wedge -VAS 3409-, screwdriver) are used to lever out those components using commercially available masking tape.
