Repairing right flange shaft (from gearbox date 05 06 1)

t	Thrust plate -VW 402-

t	Press tool -VW 407-

t	Tube -32-109-

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Tube -2010-

t	Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-

1 -	Clutch housing

2 -

O-ring

q	Always renew

q	Insert in groove in stub shaft.

q	Grease with constant velocity joint grease -G 052 738 A2-.

3 -	Right flange shaft, complete

q	Supplied as spare part with bearing and dust plate.

q	Insert splines in gearbox stub shaft with constant velocity joint grease -G 052 738 A2-.

q	Allocation → Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)

q	Removing and installing with gearbox installed → Chapter and → Chapter

4 -	Hexagon bolt

5 -	Right flange shaft

6 -	Sealing cover

q	Drive out and in with a drift.

q	Drive in to depth of 4...5 mm.

Bearing

q	Pressing off → Fig.

q	Pressing on → Fig.

q	Installation position: higher collar of bearing faces splines of flange shaft.

8 -	Retaining ring

q	Always renew

9 -	Dust plate

q	For flange shaft

q	Pressing off → Fig.

q	Pressing on → Fig.

q	Installation position → Fig.

Pressing off dust plate –  Remove retaining ring on bearing.

Pressing off flange shaft bearing A -  Splitter, 5 ... 60 mm, e.g. -Kukko 17/0-

Pressing on flange shaft bearing Installation position: higher collar faces splines of flange shaft. –  Install retaining ring.

Pressing dust plate onto flange shaft –  Press new dust plate only far enough on that hump -arrow 1- is flush (check measurement -a- = 49 mm). –  Then peen dust plate as shown on 2 opposite points at distance -b- = 5.5 mm from edge with 2.5 mm Ø punch -arrow 2-.
