Installing > < Remove the dryer cartridge

Detaching
First carry out the following work:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical loads, and pull out ignition key.
–  Move lock carrier to service position → Rep. gr.50.
–  Remove the support of the fan along with the radiator and condenser.
–  Before opening the refrigerant circuit, drain the refrigerant, for example by using the AC filling station -SAT 4006D-.
  Note
t  Releasing refrigerant into the environment is a punishable offence.
t  All components of the refrigerant circuit which have been opened must be sealed with suitable plugs to prevent moisture intrusion.
  WARNING
Danger of freezing injuries.
If refrigerant circuit has not been evacuated, refrigerant will escape.
Extract refrigerant before opening refrigerant circuit. If the refrigerant circuit is not opened within 10 minutes after it has been evacuated, pressure may develop in coolant circuit due to re-evaporation. Extract refrigerant again.
   
–  Move the assembly group of the radiator and condenser -arrows- to enable access.
–  Remove the sealing bolt -1- with socket wrench end Torx T-50 -SAT 1006/8 50-.
  WARNING
Extract refrigerant from refrigerant circuit before removing sealing cap -1-. If the circlip -arrow- and the sealing cap -1- are not removed within 10 minutes, pressure may develop in refrigerant circuit due to re-evaporation. Extract refrigerant again.

–  Push the cap -1- into the liquid container.

–  Remove circlip -arrow- and pull sealing cap -1- out of condenser -2- using bolt M12.
–  Pull dryer cartridge -4- out of receiver -1-.
