Ribbed belt removal and installation

Removal

–	Removing right-hand insulation tray → General Body Repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.50.

–	Mark direction of rotation of ribbed belt.

–	Using a spanner on the securing bolt swivel tensioning roller in direction of arrow.

–	Remove ribbed belt.

Installation

–	Place ribbed V-belt onto crankshaft pulley first. Slide belt onto tensioning roller last.

Note!

On fitting ribbed belt make sure it is correctly placed on the pulleys.

–	Install right-hand insulation tray → General Body Repairs, exterior; Rep. Gr.50.

1 -	Vibration damper/pulley

2 -	Tensioning roller

3 -	Pulley - Alternator

4 -	Air conditioner compressor

5 -	Pulley - P.A.S. vane pump

Belt routing for versions without air conditioner compressor

1 -	Vibration damper/pulley

2 -	Tensioning roller

3 -	Pulley - Alternator

4 -	Ribbed belt

5 -	Pulley - P.A.S. vane pump
