Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing
–  Take out the oil dipstick -1- from its guide tube.
–  Lift the engine cover by the sides -arrows 2- and pull it out forwards -arrow 3-.
–  Replace the oil dipstick in the guide tube.

–  Unplug electrical connector -2- at air mass meter -G70-.
–  Disconnect the breather hose -1- and the air conduit hoses -3- and -5-.
–  Remove bolt -4- and take out air cleaner housing.

–  Unplug the connectors -1 ... 3- In the air pipe.
–  Remove air hose (right-side) by lifting retaining clips -arrows- slightly.
  Note
The coolant hose -1- and fuel pipes -2- and -3- must remain connected.

Only with vehicles with engine code letters BKC, BXE, BXF
–  Detach electrical connector -arrow- from the intake manifold flap motor -V157- .
–  Unscrew the bolts crossways -1 ... 3- and remove the Intake manifold flap motor -V157- .

Continued for all vehicles
–  Pull off vacuum hose -3- from the exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18-.
–  Extract the breather tube from the sump -4- on the air pipe.
–  Release the clips -1- on the exhaust gas turbocharger using the tool -T20174- .
–  Leave the vacuum hoses open -arrow-.
–  Unscrew bolts -2- and -5- and remove the air duct.

Only with vehicles with engine code letters BKC, BXE, BXF
–  Detach coolant hoses -1- and -2- from exhaust gas recirculation cooler.

–  Detach coolant hoses -1- and -2- from exhaust gas recirculation control valve.
Continued for all vehicles
  A15-0794
–  Detach hose connection element -2- from the hose assembly on the solenoid valve block by releasing retaining tab.
–  Disconnect the vacuum hose -1- on the oil retention valve for the brake servo.

–  Detach, from the tandem pump, the vacuum hose -arrow- going to brake servo.

–  Unscrew the suspension ring from the engine -arrow- on the rear of the cylinder head.
Only with vehicles with engine code letters BKC, BXE, BXF

–  Unscrew the junction tube on the lower part of the exhaust gas change-over valve -arrow-.

–  Remove bolts -arrows-.

–  Remove the bolts -arrow- and remove the exhaust gas radiator with the change-over valve.
Only for vehicles with identification letters BJB
–  Remove the junction tube for exhaust gas recirculation between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust gas change-over valve → Item
Continued for all vehicles
  A15-1035
–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove intake manifold.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:
  Note
t  Renew gaskets and seals.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Fit the supercharger air system hoses and observe the assembly instructions → Chapter.
