Lucas front brake - assembly overview
1 - Brake disc
q   Thickness: 25 mm
q   Wear limit: 22 mm
q   Always replace by axles
q   Do not use force to separate the brake from the wheel stock, use deoxidant if necessary, as the brake disc could be damaged.
2 - 4 Nm
3 - Brake pads
q   Thickness: 14 mm
q   Wear limit: 7 mm with back plate
q   With wear indicator
q   In respective wear (limits: 2 to 3 mm) a warning lamp lights up in the dash panel insert
q   Check the thickness → Booklet
q   Do not unscrew hose when replacing brake pads
q   removing and fitting → Chapter.
q   Always replace all the pads on the same axle
4 - Brake pad retaining springs
q   Always replace when brake pads are replaced
5 - Brake back plate
q   Brake holder with different guide bolts and protective hoods
q   Delivered as assembled part, with sufficient lubrication on the guide pins
q   If the protective covers or the guide pins have been damaged, fit the whole repair unit. Use the attached grease to lubricate the guide pins
6 - 125 Nm
7 - Heat shield
q   Fit over piston
q   Installation position: the stalk should be fitted into the brake calliper casing opening and the arrow should point downwards.
8 - Housing for brake calliper
q   Do not undo the brake line when replacing brake pads
q   removing and fitting → Chapter.
q   Remove the brake pads → Chapter.
9 - 30 Nm
q   Replace
q   When loosening and tightening, the guide bolt should be counterhold
10 - Security spring
11 - Brake hose with hose connection and hollow bolt - 35 Nm
q   Do not dismantle, replace complete
q   Do not unscrew to change the brake pads
12 - 10 Nm
13 - Retainer
q   Screw to the wheel bearing housing
14 - Boot
q   Removing: press the lug through the middle opening and pull upwards
15 - 8 Nm
q   For ABS revolution sensor
16 - ABS rev. sensor
q   Before fitting the sensor, clean the inner surface of the hole and apply solid lubricant paste → Parts catalogue.
17 - Wheel bearing housing
18 - Cover plate
19 - 10 Nm
20 - Wheel hub with wheel bearing
q   For vehicles with ABS, a sensor ring has been fitted in the wheel bearing seal
q   Replace after each removal, as it is destroyed on removal
q   Removing and fitting → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. Gr.40
q   Allocation → Spare parts catalogue
