Rear wheel drum brake: Assembly overview
1 - Bolt.
q   4 Nm
2 - Brake drum
q   Brake drum diameter: 200 mm
q   Wear limit: 201 mm
q   Clean thoroughly and check for damage, wear, correctness of dimensions, wheel bolt threads for damage, and if the surface of the brake is in good condition
3 - Panel
q   Remove and install in vehicles with drum brakes → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr. 42
4 - Nut
q   70 Nm + 30°
q   Replace after every removal.
5 - Wheel housing with wheel bearing and sensor ring
q   Sensor ring integrated into the wheel bearing
q   Always replace entire unit
q   Remove and install in vehicles with drum brakes → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr. 42
q   Allocation: → Parts catalogue
6 - Brake carrier with brake pads
q   Removing:
–  Then push thebleeder hose of the collector bottle -SAT 1175B/1- onto the brake bleeding screw.
–  Open the bleeding bolt.
–  Position the rod for applying the foot brake.
–  Retract brake → Chapter.
–  Remove the brake drum.
–  Remove wheel hub with wheel bearing. → Item.
–  Unscrew the brake lines → Item.
–  Remove brake carrier.
q   Installing:
–  Install brake carrier.
–  Screw on the brake lines → Item.
–  Fit wheel hub with wheel bearing → Item.
–  Installing the brake drum.
–  Remove the block from the brake pedal.
–  Bleed brake system → Chapter.
q   Repairs → Chapter
7 - Hand brake cable
q   Adjusting handbrake → Chapter
8 - ABS revolution sensor
q   Before fitting the sender, clean the inner surface of the hole and apply solid lubricant paste according to the → Parts catalogue.
9 - Seal
q   For vehicles without ABS
q   To cover the opening for the rev. sensor in the axle stub
10 - Axle body
11 - Bolt.
q   8 Nm
q   For ABS revolution sensor
12 - Brake line
q   14 Nm
13 - Axle connection
14 - 30 Nm + 90°
q   Replace after every removal.
