Detaching and attaching the front wheel bearing
Detaching and attaching the front wheel bearing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Set of tools -U-40450A-
  W00-2261
t  Puller -T20022-
t  Grease Molykote, rec. num. N052 723 00
t  Use the grease bags from the repair kit for this.
Procedure
–  Remove the wheel bearing housing → Chapter.
Detach front wheel bearing

–  Detach the hub of the wheel bearing housing with the toolkit -U-40450A-.
  E40-0135
–  Remove the hub of the inner ring of the bearing with the extractor -T20022-.
Vehicles with ABS
–  Unscrew rotor for revolution sensor from hub.
All vehicles (continued)
–  Remove the securing ring.
  E40-0136
–  Detach the wheel bearing housing with the toolkit -U-40450A-.
Fit the bearing of the front wheel
  E40-0137
–  Lubricate the surface of the orifice for the wheel bearing in the body with Molykote grease (rec. num. N052 723 00)
t  Use the grease bags from the repair kit for this.
–  Fit the securing ring.
  N40-0127
–  Detach the wheel bearing housing with the toolkit -U-40450A-.
Vehicles with ABS
–  Fit the rotor for revolution sensor.
Star-head bolt → Item.

–  Fit the wheel bearing housing → Chapter.
