| Release screws -2- (1.4 Nm). |
| For vehicles of model year 03 ? (with key switch for the front passenger airbags) |
Note | Pay attention to safety precautions regarding repairs to airbag system → Chapter. |

| Disconnect the plug connection of the front passenger airbag key switch. |
| –
| Disconnect plug connection for the glove compartment lighting. |
| –
| Remove air guide hose from glove compartment on front passenger's side (if present). |
| –
| Remove glove compartment on front passenger's side -3- from the dash panel -1-. |
| Installation is carried out in the reverse order. |
Note | If the airbag warning light -K75- signals a fault after assembly erase the fault memory with vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552 -and interrogate again → Chapter. |

| Switch off the ignition before attaching the battery. |
WARNING | Nobody should be in the vehicle when the battery is being connected. |
