Installing the gearbox
The installation of the gearbox occurs in reverse order. Observe the stress-free assembly bracket in the vehicle → Engine → Rep. Gr.10.
Bolts and other attachments that come into contact with the gearbox can have varying finishes depending on whether the gearbox is made of aluminium or magnesium.
Only use bolts and other components which are indicated in the → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts.
–  After installing, check gear oil level in the gearbox and if necessary top up with gear oil → Chapter.
  Note
t  Clean splines of drive shaft and apply a thin film of grease for plug serration of clutch disc -G 000 100 -.
t  The clutch plate must slide freely up and down the drive shaft.
t  If the gearbox is inserted, ensure the intermediate plate between the engine and gearbox is correctly installed.
t  Check whether the dowel sleeves for centering the gearbox are present in the cylinder block; insert if necessary.
t  Installing starter and cables → Electrical System → Rep. Gr.27.
t  Attach the shift mechanism to the gearbox → Chapter.
t  Setting the shift mechanism → Chapter.
t  Install battery and battery tray → Electrical System → Rep. Gr.27.
t  If the battery earth strap is disconnected and connected, carry out a few additional operations → Electrical System → Rep. Gr.27.
