Removing and installing radiator for exhaust gas recirculation
Removing and installing radiator for exhaust gas recirculation
For engine with identification characters BNM, BNV
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Catch pan, e.g. -VAS 6208-
t  Hose clamps -MP 7-602 (3094)-
t  Pliers for spring strap clamps
–  Remove engine cover → Chapter.
   
–  Remove charge-air pipe at the top -1- with connecting hose -2--arrows-.
–  Remove intake manifold flap motor -V157-.
–  Place a catch pan under the engine.
–  Pinch off coolant hoses with hose clamps -MP 7-602 (3094)- and disconnect the hoses from the cooler.
–  Unscrew exhaust gas recirculation radiator from mechanical exhaust gas recirculation valve → Chapter (Pos. 4).
–  Unscrew exhaust gas recirculation radiator from intake manifold → Chapter (Pos. 1).
–  Unscrew the exhaust gas recirculation radiator from the exhaust manifold and remove radiator.
Install
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following:

t  Replace the gaskets and the self-locking nuts.
t  Secure all hose connections with hose clips.
–  Top up coolant → Chapter.
