Replace middle and rear silencer
Replace middle and rear silencer
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Body saw e.g. -V.A.G 1523-
A separation point is provided for repair purposes for replacing the middle or rear silencer.
   
–  Use body saw to separate exhaust pipe at right angles at the separation point -arrow-.
–  When installing clamping sleeve -4- position on the side markings -arrow 2 and arrow 3-.
–  Align exhaust system free of stress → Chapter.
–  Align rear silencer horizontally.
–  Tighten bolted connections of the clamping sleeve evenly to 40 Nm.
Installation position of clamping sleeve: Bolts positioned vertically at front of exhaust pipe.
