Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Lifting device -MP9-201 (2024 A)-
t  Engine mount -MP1-202-
t  Assembly stand -MP9-101-
t  Bushing -T30010-
t  Workshop crane, e.g. -VAS 6100-
t  Engine/gearbox jack, e.g. -V.A.G 1383 A-
Secure the engine with engine mount -MP1-202- on the assembly stand -MP9-101- before performing assembly work.
Work procedure
   
–  Guide the engine and gearbox with the engine/gearbox jack e.g. -V.A.G 1383 A- onto a work bench.
–  Lower the engine/gearbox unit in such a way that the gearbox is positioned on the support.
–  Unbolt gearbox from engine → Gearbox; Rep. gr.34.
–  Press gearbox from engine.

–  Attach lifting device -MP9-201- as shown and raise from engine/gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383 A- using the workshop crane -VAS 6100-.
Belt pulley side: 2nd hole of perforated bar in position 3
Flywheel side: 3rd hole of perforated bar in position 8
  WARNING
Use securing pins on the hooks and rig pins.
  Note
t  The rig positions on the supporting bracket marked 1 to 4 point towards the belt pulley.
t  The holes in the vertical perforated bars are counted from the hooks.

–  Attach engine to the assembly stand -MP9-101- with the engine and gearbox mount -MP1-202- and the distance sleeves -T30010-.
