Removing
   
–  Pull out oil dipstick -1-.
–  Release the nut -2-.
–  Remove engine cover -3- in -direction of arrow-.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove V-ribbed belt → Chapter.
–  Remove ribbed V-belt tensioning device → Chapter.
–  Remove top and middle toothed belt guard → Chapter.
–  Position crankshaft to TDC for cylinder 1 → Chapter.
–  Take toothed belt off camshaft sprocket → Chapter.
  Note
t  The belt pulley/vibration damper and the bottom toothed belt guard can remain installed.
t  The timing belt remains fitted onto the crankshaft timing belt sprocket.
t  Pay attention to instructions for the removal and installation of the timing belt → Chapter.

–  Release screws -1- and -5- and remove timing belt guard at rear -2-.
–  Unscrew coolant pump -4- and carefully guide out along the engine support.
Install
–  Clean sealing surface for „O“-ring or smoothen.
–  Moisten new „O“-ring -3- with coolant additive.
–  Attach the coolant pump. Fitting position: Plug in housing points down.
–  Position rear toothed belt guard -2-, tighten screw -1- to 20 Nm.
–  Tighten screws -5- of coolant pump to 15 Nm.
–  Install and tension timing belt → Chapter.
–  Install the V-ribbed belt → Chapter.
–  Top up coolant → Chapter.
