| Bleeding the brake system on vehicles with ABS is undertaken in the same way as for vehicles without ABS. |

| On vehicles with load-dependent brake-power regulator, move the lever of the brake-power regulator while bleeding the rear wheel-brake. |
| t
| While bleeding continuously check the brake fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir and top up brake fluid if necessary up to the „MAX“ marking. |

| Build up pressure in the brake system by pumping repeatedly the brake pedal. |
| –
| Fit on hose of bleeding bottle. |
| –
| Loosen the bleeder screw by pressing on the brake pedal and bleed. |
| –
| Tighten the bleeder screw with the brake pedal pressed down. |
| –
| If required, repeat this procedure until the brake system is bled fully. |
Note | Repeat this procedure until the brake system is fully bled, i.e. until even the smallest air bubbles have escaped from the system. |

| After bleeding close the relevant bleeder screw and fit dust cap. |
| Vehicles with ABS BOSCH 8.0, ABS BOSCH 8.2 and vehicles without ABS |

| Perform a test drive. While doing so, at least one ABS adjustment must be carried out on vehicles with ABS! |
Caution | Before the basic setting is performed, first of all the brake system must be fully bled until even the smallest air bubbles have escaped from the system. |
| The air bubbles would penetrate into the ABS hydraulic unit when performing the basic setting. |
| It is very difficult to remove these air bubbles from the ABS hydraulic unit. |

| Perform basic setting of vehicle diagnosis, measurement and information system -VAS- → Chapter. |

| Perform test drive with at least one ABS adjustment! |
