Removing and installing steering lock
Removing and installing steering lock
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Vehicle diagnosis, measurement and information system -VAS-
  Note
Pay attention to the measures after re-connecting the battery → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
Remove steering lock:
–  Disconnect battery → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove steering wheel with airbag → Body Work; Rep. gr.69.
–  Remove dash panel protective label with top steering column trim panel → Body Work; Rep. gr.69.
–  Remove bottom steering column trim panel → Body work; Rep. gr.69.
–  Removing steering-column control → Electrical System; Rep. gr.94.
   
–  Unplug connector for the ignition starter switch -1- and the connector for the immobilizer -2- reading coil.
–  Removing lock cylinder and ignition starter switch → Electrical System; Rep. gr.94.

–  Remove pull-off screws -arrows- (bore out).
–  Take out steering lock.

Install steering lock:
–  Insert the steering lock and tighten with new pull-off screws.
–  Tighten pull-off screws until the screw head shears off.
–  Installing lock cylinder and ignition starter switch → Electrical System; Rep. gr.94.
–  Unplug connector for the ignition starter switch -1- and connect the connector for the immobilizer -2- reading coil.
–  Install the steering-column control → Electrical System; Rep. gr.94.
–  Install bottom steering column trim panel → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Install dash panel protective label with top steering column trim panel → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Install the steering wheel with airbag → Body Work; Rep. gr.69.
  Note
Pay attention to the measures after re-connecting the battery → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
–  Connect battery → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
–  Interrogate fault memory or eliminate fault → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
