Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Catch pan for workshop crane, e.g. -VAS 6208-
t  Pliers for spring strap clamps
t  Refractometer -T10007-
Draining
  WARNING
Hot steam may escape when the compensation bottle is opened. Wear safety goggles and safety clothing, in order to avoid eye injuries and scalding. Cover the cap with a cloth and open carefully.
–  Open the cap of the compensation bottle.
   
–  Remove noise insulation -arrows-.
–  Place a catch pan for workshop crane, e.g. -VAS 6208-, under the engine.
For vehicles with drain plug
  S10-0135
–  Turn the drain plug -arrow- on the radiator to the left and draw backwards, if necessary fit auxiliary hose onto connection.
  Note
Observe the disposal instructions for coolant.
For vehicles without drain plug
–  Open spring strap clamp -arrow- and detach coolant hose from radiator.

Observe the disposal instructions for coolant.
Continued for all vehicles
Filling up
–  Select the appropriate coolant additive from the Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts Škoda or from the list of allowed coolant additives → Roomster.
–  First of all prepare required quantity of coolant mixed to the correct ratio in a suitable vessel → Roomster.
For vehicles with drain plug
  A10-0118
–  Insert and tighten the coolant drain plug.
For vehicles without drain plug
–  Connect the removed coolant hose.
Continued for all vehicles
–  Remove coolant temperature sender.
–  Fill up coolant gradually until it is visible in the opening of the coolant sender.
–  Install coolant temperature sender
  A10-0118
–  Fill up coolant gradually up to the “max” marking on the compensation bottle.
–  Seal expansion reservoir.
–  Run engine until fan starts.
  WARNING

–  Check the level of coolant and top up if necessary. When engine is at operating temperature the coolant level must be at the “max” marking, when engine is cold between the “min” and “max” markings.
