Remove and install the handle and cover for the shift mechanism (Fabia II, Roomster, Rapid) > < Inspecting and adjusting the selector lever control cable
Checking operation of the ignition key anti-removal lock (Rapid, Superb II and vehicles Fabia II and Roomster as of 11.11)
Checking operation of the ignition key anti-removal lock (Rapid, Superb II and vehicles Fabia II and Roomster as of 11.11)
–  After reaching the position „ignition on“ turn the key slightly to the right (do not start engine).
–  Depress brake pedal and hold pressed.
l  Shifting the selector lever out of the position „P“ when the lock button is pressed at the grip of the selector lever must be possible without „jerking“.
–  Switch off ignition.
l  The key cannot be withdrawn from the ignition starter switch in any other selector lever position except in the position „P“.
–  Shift selector lever into position „P“.
–  Withdraw ignition key.
l  Only withdraw the key from the ignition starter switch if the selector lever is in position „P“.
l  The selector lever cannot be shifted out of position „P“ when the button is pressed and the brake pedal is actuated.
If the ignition key removal lock does not function as described:
t  Inspecting and adjusting the selector lever control cable → Chapter.
t  Inspect the vehicle → Vehicle diagnostic tester in the function „Targeted fault finding“.
