Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Clamping lever -MP1-203 (3297)-
Removing the V-ribbed belt
–  Remove engine cover → Chapter.
–  Mark the rotation direction of the V-ribbed belt.
–  Release fixing screws for generator.
   
–  Position clamping lever -MP1-203 (3297)-, secure by inserting the pin -arrow- and and press AC generator in -direction of arrow-.
–  Remove the released ribbed V-belt from the AC generator - belt pulley.
Installing the V-ribbed belt
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
–  Inspect the V-ribbed belt:
t  → BookletFabia II
t  → BookletRoomster
–  Check smooth operation of belt pulley and tensioning pulley.
  Note
t  Before fitting the V-ribbed belt make sure that all assemblies (generator and AC compressor) are securely mounted.
t  Pay attention to the correct position and rotation direction of the V-ribbed belt in the belt pulley when installing it.
–  Push AC generator down with clamping lever -MP1-203 (3297)-.
–  Lay the V-ribbed belt on the crankshaft belt pulley.
–  Push AC generator down and fit on belt.
Once the AC generator is released the belt is tensioned to nominal dimension.
–  After fitting the ribbed V-belt, crank the engine several times with the starter (about 10 turns) once the AC generator is released.
  Note
Before tightening the screws for the AC generator, do not move it and do not push the V-ribbed belt down.
–  First tighten the bottom and then the top screw for AC generator to 23 Nm.
–  Install the engine cover → Chapter.
