Test ignition transformer
Test ignition transformer
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hand multimeter -V.A.G 1526 A- or multimeter -V.A.G 1715-
t  Measuring cables -V.A.G 1594 A -
Test sequence
–  Unplug the connector and the ignition cable from the ignition transformer -N152-.
   
–  Check primary resistance between the terminals 1 and 15 with the multimeter.
   Specified value: 0.5 to 1.2 Ω
–  Check secondary resistance between the terminals 4 and 15.
   Specified value: 3 to 4 kΩ
If these specified values are not reached:
–  Replace ignition transformer → Anchor, pos. 1.
