Replacing gasket ring for crankshaft -on the belt pulley side-

l	Engine installed

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Counterholder -T30004- or -MP 1-310-

t	Torque wrench

Vehicles up to engine No. 210157

t	Inserting device - MP 1-207-

t	Gasket ring extractor - MP 1-215-

Vehicles as of engine No. 210158

t	Bushing -T10022-

t	Pressure plate -T10022/1 -

t	Spindle -T10022/2-

t	Gasket ring extractor -T30003-

Removing

–	Removing the ribbed V-belt.⇒ Page 13-5.

–	Remove bottom right engine cover.

–	Removing the timing belt ⇒ Page 13-5.

–	Remove crankshaft timing belt sprocket. To this end lock the toothed belt gear with counterholder -T30004- or - MP 1-310-.

–	To guide the gasket ring extractor screw in fixing screw for toothed belt gear in the crankshaft up to the stop.

–	Turn inner part of the gasket ring extractor two turns (approx. 3 mm) out of the outer part and lock with knurled screw.

Up to engine No. 210157: -MP 1-215-

As of engine No. 210158: -T30003-

–	Oil the thread head of the gasket ring extractor, position and forcely screw into the gasket ring as far as possible.

–	Release knurled screw and turn the inner side against the crankshaft until the gasket ring is pulled out.

Installing, up to engine No. 210157

–	Lightly oil the sealing lip of the gasket ring.

–	Fit insertion sleeve from -MP 1-207- on the crankshaft.

–	Slide gasket ring over the insertion sleeve.

–	Press down gasket ring flush with pressure bushing from -MP 1-207-.

–	Further installation occurs in reverse order.

Installing, as of engine No. 210158

–	Lightly oil the sealing lip of the gasket ring (modified version).

–	Position the bushing -T10022- on the crankshaft stub and screw in with spindle -T10022/2- up to the stop.

–	Slide gasket ring over the bushing -T10022-.

–	Press in gasket ring with pressure bushing -T10022/1- up to the stop.

–	Further installation occurs in reverse order.
