Removing and installing parts of the lubrication system
  Note
t  If considerable quantities of metal swarf or abrasion (caused by rubbing damage such as damage to the crankshaft and conrod bearings) is found in the engine oil when carrying out engine repairs, it is necessary to determine the cause of the rubbing damage and replace the damaged parts, then carefully clean the oil galleries in order to avoid consequential damage.
t  The oil level must not be above the max. marking - risk of damage to catalytic converter!
Check the oil level, amount of oil and oil specification → Octavia.
   
1 - Cap
q   Replace seal if damaged
2 - Dipstick
q   oil level must not exceed max-marking!
3 - Filler funnel
q   Remove for extracting oil
4 - Guide tube
5 - Connecting tube
6 - Retaining clip
q   check tightness
7 - O-ring
q   replace if damaged
8 - Oil filter holder
q   disassembling and assembling → Chapter
9 - 15 Nm + torque a further 90° (1/4 turn)
10 - Gasket
q   replace
11 - Oil injection nozzle
q   for cooling pistons
12 - Screw with pressure relief valve, 27 Nm
q   Opening pressure: 0.25…0.32 MPa (2.5...3.2 bar) overpressure
13 - Baffle
14 - Oil pump with sprocket
q   with pressure relief valve 1,2 MPa (12 bar)
q   Before installing, check whether both dowel sleeves for centering oil pump/cylinder block are present
q   If there is any scoring on contact surfaces and gears, replace
q   Tighening torque of oil pump cover at oil pump housing: 10 Nm
15 - 15 Nm
16 - Oil pan
q   clean sealing surface before installing
q   install with silicone sealant -D 176 404 A2 - → Chapter
q   removing and installing → Chapter
17 - 15 Nm
18 - Gasket ring
q   replace
19 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
20 - 10 Nm
21 - Oil level and temperature sender -G266 -
q   check → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations
22 - Gasket ring
q   replace
23 - Dowel sleeves
q   2 pieces
24 - Chain
q   before removing mark running direction
q   check for wear
25 - Front sealing flange
q   install with silicone sealant -D 176 404 A2 - → Chapter
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   Replace gasket rings → Chapter
26 - 15 Nm
27 - Oil pump sprocket
q   can be installed only in one position
28 - Chain tensioner with tensioning rail, 15 Nm
q   when installing, tension and hook on the spring
q   must be replaced completely, do not dismantle
