Securing the engine to the assembly stand
Securing the engine to the assembly stand
Secure the engine with the engine and gearbox mount -MP 1-202- and on the assembly stand before performing assembly work.
  Note
When measuring the cylinder bore ( → Chapter) the engine must not be fixed to the assembly stand.
   
–  Attach lifting device -MP 9-201- as shown into the lifting eyes on the engine and slightly raise with workshop crane (e.g. -V.A.S 6100-):
t  Belt pulley side: 2nd hole, perforated bar - Pos. 1
t  Flywheel side: 2nd hole, perforated bar - Pos. 7
  WARNING
Use securing pins on the hooks and rig pins to prevent release.
–  Attach engine with engine and gearbox mount -MP 1-202 - at assembly stand.
