Removing and installing cylinder head
Removing and installing cylinder head
  Note
t  The engine must not exceed the temperature of 35 °C when slackening the cylinder head screws, otherwise the cylinder head can forever be deformed
t  Cylinder heads with cracks between the valve seats may continue to be used without any reduction in the life time provided the cracks are slight and max. 0.5 mm wide.
t  It is not permissible to rework the cylinder heads of diesel engines.
t  Replace cylinder head bolts.
t  When undertaking assembly replace self-locking nuts and screws as well as all the gasket rings and gaskets which have been tightened to a turning angle.
t  When installing an exchange cylinder head with the camshaft installed, it is necessary to oil the contact surfaces between bucket tappets and the cam track after installing the cylinder head.
t  Do not remove the plastic bases supplied as a protection for the open valves of an exchange cylinder head with installed camshaft until just before fitting on the cylinder head.
t  When replacing the cylinder head, replace all the coolant → Octavia .
t  In case of contaminated engine oil, carry out oil change → Octavia.
