Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552- with cable -V.A.G 1551/3-
Test sequence
–  Perform an actuator diagnosis and actuate commencement of injection valve → Chapter.
   
Readout on display:
The valve control produces and audible change in the combustion sound (knocking sound).
–  Initiate basic setting → Chapter.
  
Actuator diagnosis                        ->
Commencement of injection valve -N108
Readout on display:
–  If necessary correct commencement of injection → Chapter.
  
System in basic setting 0        ->
42  46  0  20  90  201  64  153  127  83
–  Remove fuse 34 -arrow-.
–  Observe display in display field 2.

The display must run to 255.
  Note
The injection commencement valve is closed by the voltage interruption. The pump interior pressure can no longer be reduced and is fully effective on the injection timing device piston. The injection timing device goes into limit “early”.
If the specified value is not reached:
–  Replacing injection pump → Chapter.
–  Interrogate fault memory and erase → Chapter.
–  Insert fuse 34 again into the fuse holder.
