The secondary air injection system blows air behind the escape valves during a cold start. This enriches the exhaust gas with oxygen, initiates a post-combustion and thus shortens the heating-up phase of the catalytic converter. The actuation of the combination valve and the secondary air pump motor -V101- is performed by the Motronic control unit -J 220- through the secondary air pump relay -J 299-. |
