Installing the gearbox
Installing the gearbox
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
–  Before installing the gearbox one should ensure that the torque converter is correctly installed in the gearbox → Chapter.
  Note
t  The ATF radiator must be cleaned before installing a replacement gearbox.
t  If a new torque converter with integrated needle bearing is installed in a gearbox with sliding contact bearing in the turbine shaft, the sliding contact bearing must be removed → Chapter.
–  Before installing make sure that the dowel sleeves fit correctly on the engine.
–  Insert intermediate plate onto the dowel sleeves.
–  Ensure that no lines are trapped when engine and gearbox are pushed together.
–  Only use original nuts (M10 x 1) for attaching the torque converter to the drive plate → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts.
–  Alway replace the self-locking nuts and screws.
–  Always replace gaskets and O-rings.
–  Install the drive shaft on the right and left of the gearbox → Chassis → Rep. Gr.40.
–  Install the starter → Electrical System → Rep. Gr.27.
–  Pay attention to the measures after connecting the battery → Electrical System → Rep. Gr.27.
–  Setting selector lever control cable → Chapter.
–  Checking the axle oil in the final drive → Chapter.
–  Inspecting ATF level → Chapter.
–  Initiate basic setting → Chapter.
