| Before installing the gearbox one should ensure that the torque converter is correctly installed in the gearbox → Chapter. |

| The ATF radiator must be cleaned before installing a replacement gearbox. |

| If a new torque converter with integrated needle bearing is installed in a gearbox with sliding contact bearing in the turbine shaft, the sliding contact bearing must be removed → Chapter. |

| Before installing make sure that the dowel sleeves fit correctly on the engine. |

| Insert intermediate plate onto the dowel sleeves. |

| Ensure that no lines are trapped when engine and gearbox are pushed together. |

| Alway replace the self-locking nuts and screws. |

| Always replace gaskets and O-rings. |

| Setting selector lever control cable → Chapter. |

| Checking the axle oil in the final drive → Chapter. |
