–  Push the torque converter hub through the gasket ring up to the first stop on the gearbox shaft.
–  Press the converter by hand into the converter bell and while doing so turn until the stud of the torque converter hub locks into the driver of the pump gear and the converter can be felt to slide in.
Fitting dimension
   
If the converter is fitted properly then the distance between the contact surfaces below the threaded bolts on the converter and the contact surface of the converter bell is about 22 mm.
If the converter is not completely inserted, the gap is about 10 mm.
  WARNING
If the converter is installed wrongly the driver of the converter or the ATF pump will be destroyed when the gearbox on the engine is connected at its flange.
