Replace gasket ring for the propshaft output flange in the angle gearbox > < Replacing the left flange shaft gasket ring

Replace gasket ring for right joint flange
Replace gasket ring for right joint flange
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Socket wrench insert SW 6 mm min. 190 mm long, e.g. - V.A.G 1669-
t  Sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-
t  Extractor -T10037-
t  Drive bushing -MP3-489 (3158)-
Removing
–  Remove right drive shaft → Chassis → Rep. Gr.40.
–  Lever out the sealing cap, to do so plunge into the middle of the cap using a screwdriver.
–  Position catch pan underneath.
   
–  Unscrew oil return line for exhaust turbocharger -arrow- → 1.9 ltr./66 kW (TDI) Engine, Mechanics → Rep. Gr.21.
–  Remove screw for joint flange/output shaft with -V.A.G 1669 - or socket wrench insert 6°mm (commercially available).
  N34-0899
–  Screw extractor -T10037- onto right joint flange.
–  Align the extractor with the knurled nut -T10037/1- and the lower support -A- parallel to flange.
–  Pull out joint flange/output shaft to the right.
–  Lever out gasket ring for joint flange with assembly lever.
Install
  S39-0114
–  Drive in the new gasket ring up to the stop.
–  Fill the space between the sealing and dust lip with multi-purpose grease.
–  Carefully drive in joint flange/output shaft, to do so turn.
–  Tighten joint flange/output shaft with conical screw.
–  Press in new cap.
–  Install drive shaft → Chassis → Rep. Gr.40.
–  Screw oil return-flow line for exhaust turbocharger onto the engine → 1.9 ltr./66 kW (TDI) Engine, Mechanics → Rep. Gr.21
–  Inspecting gear oil level in the manual and angle gearbox → Chapter.
Tightening torques
  S39-0091
Flange shaft on gearbox
(conical screw)		25 Nm
