Identify the vehicle windows with the vehicle identification number
Identify the vehicle windows with the vehicle identification number
  Note
t  The identification of the vehicle windows with the vehicle identification number is carried out by laser only on vehicles up to 10.08.
t  After installing the windows, which were supplied as replacement part, the vehicle identification number (only on vehicles where the windows have already been marked in this way) must be provided according to the following work sequence.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Cleaning solution -D 009 401 04-.
t  Corrosive agent set -1Z0 898 101- one time package for one window (contains corrosive paste and paint brush for applying corrosive paste).
t  Adhesive label -1Z0 000 101ND- with cut-out vehicle identification number (contains an adhesive label and a transferable foil).
  WARNING
Wear protective gloves when working with corrosive paste.
Rinse the caustic skin with cold water.
–  Clean the outer side of the relevant window and degrease (e.g. with cleaning solution -D 009 401 04-).
–  Stick over adhesive label with transparent foil.
–  Remove transparent foil with adhesive label from the base paper.
–  Glue adhesive label with transparent foil onto the outer side of the relevant window → Chapter.
–  Smoothen the adhesive label.
–  Remove the transparent foil from the window in such a way that the adhesive label is adherent to the window.
–  Apply corrosive paste with the paint brush to the vehicle identification number on the window.
–  Allow the corrosive paste to work in for approx. 4 minutes.
–  Remove corrosive paste with a wet cloth from the window.
–  Remove the adhesive label from the window and clean the window.
Positioning the vehicle identification number
   
Position of the vehicle identification number on the windscreen:
Dimension -a- (from the border of the ceramic layer) = 39 mm
Dimension -b- (from the border of the ceramic layer) = 5 mm

Position of the vehicle identification number on the rear window:
  Note
Position of the vehicle identification number on the rear window on Octavia Combi II is identical.
The vehicle identification number on the rear window is positioned vertically to the homologation stamp.
Dimension -a- = 8 mm

Position of the vehicle identification number on the side windows:
The vehicle identification number on the side windows is positioned vertically to the homologation stamp.
Dimension -a- = 6 mm

The vehicle identification number on the side windows is positioned vertically to the homologation stamp.
