Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Piston jig -T10145-
Removing:
When removing mark the brake pads you intend to keep using. Install in the same location, as otherwise this may cause uneven braking!
–  Remove wheels.
   
–  Disconnect the plug connection -1- for the brake pad wear indicator.

–  Remove caps -arrows-.
  S46-0153
–  Loosen and remove the two guide bolts -arrows- from the brake caliper.
–  Remove the brake caliper and secure with wire in such a way that the weight of the brake caliper does not burden or damage the brake line.
–  Take out the brake pads from the brake caliper.
–  Clean the brake caliper.
Only use alcohol to clean the brake caliper housing.
Installing:
Drain the brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir before the piston is pushed with the piston jig into the cylinder. Otherwise brake fluid can flow out and lead to damage if brake fluid was added in the meantime.

–  Push piston back with piston jig -T10145--1-.
  S46-0150
–  Insert inside brake pad (piston side) -1- and outside brake pad -2- with retaining springs into the brake caliper.
t  Inside brake pad (piston side) with large three-finger clip -1-.
t  Outside brake pad with small three-finger clip -2- (coloured black).
  S46-0155
–  First position the brake caliper with the brake pads at the bottom -arrow- of the brake carrier.

–  Screw the brake caliper with both guide bolts to the brake carrier.
l  The bolt of the brake caliper must be located behind the guide of the brake carrier!
–  Insert both caps.
–  Mount the plug connection of the brake pad wear indicator.
–  Attach the wheels.
  Note
t  Observe the instructions for changing the pad → Chapter
t  After each brake pad replacement, forcefully apply the brake pedal repeatedly to ensure the brake pads go into their normal operating position.
t  Check brake fluid level after replacing the brake pads.

Tightening torques:
Guide bolts to brake carrier30 Nm
Wheel bolts120 Nm
