Removing and installing crankshaft-belt pulley
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Counterholder -T30004 (3415)-
t  Bolt -T30004/1 (3415/1)-
t  Locating screw -T10340-
t  Adapter for dial gauge -T10170- or -T10170 A-
t  Dial gauge, commercially available
Removing
  Note
t  In order to avoid that the tightening torque of the fixing screw for the crankshaft-belt pulley is inaccurate due to slip, the fixing screw -T10340- must be used in addition to the counterholder -T30004-.
t  The crankshaft is only locked in direction of rotation of engine using the fixing screw -T10340-.
  Caution
Risk of engine damage!
t  The fixing screw -T10340- must not be used to slacken the fixing screw for the crankshaft-belt pulley - only for tightening!
t  The locating screw -T10340- must only be screwed in the “TDC” position of the crankshaft.
–  Remove V-ribbed belt → Chapter.

–  Release fixing screw for crankshaft belt pulley.
Counterhold crankshaft belt pulley with counterholder -T30004 - and bolt -T30004/1 -.
–  Release fixing screw and remove crankshaft belt pulley.
  Caution
Risk of engine damage.
In order to avoid that the chain sprocket on the crankshaft slides out of the driver, the crankshaft must not be turned when the V-ribbed belt pulley is released.
Install
–  Tighten the crankshaft belt pulley by hand with a new fixing screw.
  Note
Observe that the clamping surfaces of the fixing screw, the belt pulley and the bushing are free of oil and grease.
  S13-0409
–  Rotate the crankshaft in direction of rotation of engine on TDC for cylinder 1 → Chapter.
  S15-0279
–  Unscrew screws -1- (8 Nm) and -3- (40 Nm), remove bracket -2- for right coolant pipe.
  A15-10539
–  Unscrew screw plug -arrow- for “TDC” bore hole at cylinder block.
  A13-10524
–  Turn the fixing screw -T10340- up to the stop in the cylinder block and tighten to 30 Nm.
  Note
The crankshaft is only locked in direction of rotation of engine with the fixing screw -T10340-.
–  Tighten the fixing screw for the crankshaft belt pulley.
Tightening torque: 150 Nm + torque a further 1/2 turn (180°)
Counterhold crankshaft belt pulley with counterholder - T30004- and bolt -T30004/1 -.
  A13-10525
–  Unscrew the fixing screw -T10340- from the cylinder block.
  A13-10525
–  Screw the screw plug -arrow- into the cylinder block.
   Tightening torque: 30 Nm
–  Install the V-ribbed belt → Chapter.
Further installation occurs in a similar way in reverse order to removal.
