Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Release tool -T10238- (for left-hand drive vehicle)
t  Release tool -T10240- (for right-hand drive vehicle)
Removing
   
–  Remove steering column cover -arrows-.
–  Lever out the cap ( → Chapter, Pos. 4) with a screwdriver.
–  Release fixing screw ( → Chapter, Pos. 3).

–  Push the release tool -T10238 - (on right-hand drive vehicles release tool -T10240 -) as shown up to the stop into the provided openings and remove the accelerator pedal module.
–  Disconnect connector at accelerator pedal module → Chapter.
Install
  S20-0175
–  Fit the connector -2- onto the accelerator pedal module -5- → Chapter.
–  Push accelerator pedal module onto fixing bolts -6-.
–  Insert the centering pin -7- into the hole on the underbody.
–  Fasten accelerator pedal module with screw -3- (10 Nm) and fit on cap -4-.
–  Re-install steering column cover.
–  If the accelerator pedal module was replaced on vehicles with automatic gearbox, the engine control unit must be adapted → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
