Exhaust gas recirculation system
Exhaust gas recirculation system
  Note
t  The exhaust gas recirculation system is operated by the diesel direct injection system control unit -J248- via the EGR valve -N18- (except engine with engine identification characters BLS) integrated into the valve block to the mechanical exhaust gas recirculation valve.
t  The mechanical exhaust gas recirculation valve with cone-shaped valve plunger makes it possible to achieve different opening cross-sections at different valve strokes.
t  Any desired valve plunger position is possible as a result of the pulsed operation.
t  The exhaust gas recirculation switches off at idling speed after about two minutes.
t  When taking longer measurements, restart the engine or increase engine speed briefly to more than 1500 rpm. After this repeat the measurement.
t  Secure all hose connections with corresponding hose clips.
t  Replace self-locking nuts.
