| Separate connector of the glow plugs. |
| –
| Connect handheld multimeter -V.A.G 1526 B- for resistance measurement between contact and glow plug housing. |

| Nominal resistance value: less than 1 Ω |
| If the nominal resistance value is exceeded (greater than 1 Ω), the glow plug is defective. |
| –
| Check glow plugs one after the other in all cylinders. |
| –
| Re-insert pulled out plugs of glow plugs. |
