Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Handheld multimeter -V.A.G 1526 B-
Test conditions
l  Ignition off.
Test sequence
–  Separate connector of the glow plugs.
–  Connect handheld multimeter -V.A.G 1526 B- for resistance measurement between contact and glow plug housing.
l  Nominal resistance value: less than 1 Ω
If the nominal resistance value is exceeded (greater than 1 Ω), the glow plug is defective.
–  Replace defective glow plug → Chapter.
–  Check glow plugs one after the other in all cylinders.
–  Re-insert pulled out plugs of glow plugs.
