  Note
The coolant shut-off valve -N279- is not fitted on all engines (see connection diagram for coolant hoses → Engine → Rep. gr.19.
Removing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Hose clamps -MP7-602 (3094)-
  WARNING
The cooling system is under pressure, the coolant temperature can be over 100°C when the engine is warm - risk of burning!
Before repairs, reduce pressure and temperature if necessary.
–  Remove engine cover and intake pipe to exhaust turbocharger → Relevant Engine → Rep. gr.21.
   
–  Pinch off coolant hoses -B- with hose clamps -MP7-602 (3094)- and pull off the hoses from the coolant shut-off valve of heating system -N279--1-.
–  Disconnect plug connection at coolant shut-off valve of heating system -N279-.
–  Release fixing nuts -A- (10 Nm) and remove coolant shut-off valve of heating system -N279--1-.
Install
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Diagnosis of coolant shut-off valve of heating system -N279-
For fault finding use the → Vehicle diagnostic tester in the function „Targeted fault finding“.
