Special tools and workshop equipment required t  Catch pan t  Protective goggles   Caution Do not run the engine or tow the vehicle when the oil pan has been removed or without filling with gearbox oil.   Note t  Observe instructions for automatic gearbox DSG - 02E → Chapter. t  General repair information → Chapter. t  Regulations concerning cleanliness when working on the gearbox → Chapter. t  Pay attention to the subject „dirty oil“ as well as to the instructions for oil filter change. t  When changing the gear oil, the gearbox oil filter must not always be replaced. Therefore comply with the instructions, when the gearbox oil filter must be replaced and when not → Chapter t  Moisten O-rings and gasket rings with gear oil. Other types of lubricant will cause the gearbox hydraulic control system to malfunction. t  If the battery earth strap is disconnected and connected, carry out certain additional operations → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
