Grease all bearing and contact surfaces with grease -G 000 450 02-.
   
1 - Floor plate
q   bend up tabs for removing
q   always replace → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
2 - Gasket
q   always replace → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
3 - Shift lever
4 - O-ring
q   insert onto gearshift lever -arrow- up to the stop
q   in case of damage replace → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
5 - Securing clip
q   do not damage cables when removing
q   always replace → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
6 - Selector cable
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   Fitting position → Chapter
q   adjust → Chapter
7 - Bush for selector cable
8 - Shift cable
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   Fitting position → Chapter
q   adjust → Chapter
9 - Damper
q   removing and installing → Fig.
10 - Bearing shell
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   when removing, the catches of the bearing shell are usually damaged

q   Pressure spring as well as selector angle cannot be removed

   
Removing and installing lock washer
–  Hold the gearshift lever -2-.
–  Press spacer sleeve -3- in direction of arrow.
–  Remove lock washer -1-.

Removing and installing damping -arrow-
–  Press the pressure spring leg -A- to the left until it is located next to the damping -arrow-.
–  Press the shift lever to the lift and pull off the damping.
l  After installing the damping, the pressure spring legs -A- and -B- must rest on the damping -arrow-.
