Removing and installing the door lock
Removing and installing the door lock
Removing:
–  Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
–  Removing door trim panel → Chapter.
–  Remove assembly carrier → Chapter.
–  Remove fixing screws for door lock → Chapter.
   
–  Unclip control cable -1-.
–  Rotate the control cable nipple 90° and remove from lug.
–  Separate the control cable of the mechanical door lock (depending upon vehicle equipment).
–  Disconnect the plug connection (only on vehicles with central locking system).
–  Take out door lock.
Installing:
  S57-0142
–  Pull out the control cable -1- in -the direction of the arrow-.
–  Using a screwdriver expand the spring fitted to the door lock -2- in -the direction of the arrow- and hook the lock lever to the spring.
  Note
The lock is blocked once the control lever is hooked on. This prevents the Bowden cable from being „incorrectly“ clipped at a later stage.
–  Further installation occurs in reverse order.
