Aligning exhaust system free of stress
Condition
l  The exhaust system is aligned when cold.
Vehicles between without clamping sleeve between middle and rear silencer
–  Slacken screws of clamping sleeve in front of middle silencer.
   
Arrows in the figures point to the front.
–  Push the middle silencer forward until the dimension -a- = 5 ... 9 mm is obtained on the suspension/middle silencer (right half of image).
–  Check the alignment of exhaust tail pipes to body and tighten screws of clamping sleeve in front of middle silencer.

  Note
The second clamping sleeve between middle and rear silencer is installed additionally when replacing individually the middle silencer or the rear silencer.
–  Slacken screws of both silencer clamping sleeves.

–  Push the middle silencer forward until the dimension -a- = 5 ... 9 mm is obtained on the suspension/middle silencer (right half of image).
–  Tighten screws of clamping sleeve in front of middle silencer.
–  Push the rear silencer forward until the dimension -a- = 7..11 mm is obtained on the suspension behind the rear silencer (left half of image).
–  Check alignment of exhaust tail pipes to body and tighten screws of clamping sleeve between middle and rear silencer.
