Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Gearbox mount -3282-
t  Adjusting plate -3282/19-
t  Engine and gearbox jack, e.g. -V.A.G 1383 A-
Removing
  Note
The gearbox must be supported, as described, if both gearbox support brackets are removed. One can dispense with the support system if only one gearbox support bracket is removed.
   
–  Align the gearbox mount -3282-.
The gearbox mount -3282- is aligned on the automatic gearbox 01V by using the adjusting plate -3282/19 -.
The symbols on the adjusting plate show the required supports while the arrow shows the direction of travel.
–  Drive a lifting jack, e.g. - V.A.G 1383 A- with gearbox support -3282- under the gearbox, align the adjusting plate parallel to the gearbox and support the gearbox.

–  Secure the gearbox on the gearbox support -3282- using screw -A-.
–  Fill the space between the gearbox support and the oil pan with washers.
Removing the gearbox support bracket on the right
  S37-0157
–  Release screws -B-.
–  Remove heat shield -C-.
  Note
In the case of 6 cylinder diesel engines the heat shield plate on the right is not installed.
–  Detach the gearbox support bracket -D- by screwing out the screws -A- from the gearbox.
Removing the gearbox support bracket on the left

–  Release screws -B-.
–  Remove heat shield -C-.
–  Detach the gearbox support bracket -D- by screwing out the screws -A- from the gearbox.
Remove the gearbox support bracket on the right and left.

–  Release screws -A-.
–  Remove gearbox support bracket -E-.
  Note
For hydraulic gearbox mounts -H- one does not need positions -C- and -B- since the screws -G- are screwed directly into the gearbox mount.
Install
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
