Disassembling and assembling the gearshift mechanism on the gearbox side > < Setting the shift mechanism

Inspect gear oil
Inspect gear oil
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Socket wrench insert -T30023 (3357)-
Gear oil level is checked with the gearbox installed.
Gear oil specification → Chapter.
  Note
Depending on the version, either a socket wrench insert -T30023 (3357)- or a 17 mm hexagon socket wrench, can be used to release the gearbox oil filler threaded plug.
   
–  Unscrew the gearbox oil filler threaded plug.
The oil is at the correct level if the gear is filled up to the lower edge of the oil filler hole.
–  Screw in the screw.
If re-filling, do the following:
–  Screw out the screw.
–  Pour in gear oil up to lower edge of filler hole.
–  Screw in the screw.

The bolt has a surface which can have varying finishes depending on whether the gearbox is of magnesium or aluminium → Chapter.
Assign the screw via the → electronic catalogue of original parts.
