Removing
–  Carefully lever off the cover from the centre console.
–  Remove the gearshift knob with cover from the gearshift lever → Chapter.
   
–  Unscrew cover for shift housing -arrows-.

–  Now unscrew the fixing nuts -1- for the gearbox housing -arrows-.
–  Separate the exhaust system behind the catalytic converter or remove the front exhaust system → Engine → Rep. Gr.26.

–  Remove shift rods -arrow A-.
–  Remove push rod by unscrewing the screw -arrow B-.
–  Remove the front cover plate over the exhaust system.
–  Swivel the gearbox housing downwards with the shift rod and push rod, and remove.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:
  N34-0600
–  Insert the shift rod sufficiently so that the fixing screws is located in the countersink of the gearshift shaft.
–  First of all tighten the shift rod -arrow A-.
–  Tighten the push rod at the gearbox -arrow B-.
–  Setting the shift mechanism → Chapter.

Tightening torques

1) Always replace screw → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts.
