Removing and Installing Tailgate: Tips for Bonnet, Flaps, Cab, and Central Locking

  Note
2 mechanics are required for the removal and installation.
Removing:
–  Remove trim panels for tailgate → Chapter.
–  Disconnect the electrical plug connections and take the cable harness out of the tailgate.
–  Remove pressurized gas struts → Chapter.
–  Hold the tailgate with the help of a second mechanic.
   
–  Remove fixing screws -1- (20 Nm) of hinges and remove tailgate -2-.
Installing:
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order; pay attention to the following points:
Adjust tailgate → Rep. gr.00.
Observe uniform gap size between bonnet and body → Rep. gr.00.
Adjust the stop buffer and check the opening and closing of the bonnet.
