Removing and installing heating element for additional air heatingZ35
Removing and installing heating element for additional air heating -Z35-
  Note
t  The heating element for additional air heating -Z35- is only fitted to certain models.
t  Check with → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
Removing
  DANGER!
The heating element for additional air heating -Z35- can be hot - risk of burning!
Before removing the heating element for additional air heating - Z35-, allow it to cool down.
–  Remove the centre console and the left surround for the centre console → Body Work; Rep. gr.68.
  Note
   
If the lever is positioned opposite the left temperature flap in such a way that the top screw -A- is covered by the lever -C-, switch on the ignition and perform another adjustment of the temperature.
–  Disconnect battery earth strap → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
Left-hand drive:
–  Remove lower part of the dash panel insert on the driver's side → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove knee airbag → Body Work; Rep. gr.69 and its bracket → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Slightly bend up the dash panel holder in front of the heating element.
Right-hand drive:
–  Remove storage compartment on passenger side → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove dash panel holder in front of the heat exchanger (two screws 10 Nm).
–  Vehicles with air conditioning system - remove temperature flap control motor -V68- → Chapter.
All vehicles:
–  Remove left footwell vent → Chapter.
–  Loosen the bottom part of the dash panel and swivel it towards you → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Unscrew the screws -A- from the cover -B- and remove the cover.

–  Unscrew the fixing nut for the earth connection -A- (9 Nm).
–  Disconnect the plug -B- with the strip -2- from the heating element for additional air heating -Z35--C-.
–  Push the heating element for additional air heating - Z35- out of the heater unit.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
–  Pay attention to the sequence when connecting the battery → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
