Disassembling and assembling the gearbox > < Tightening torques

t  Pipe section -MP3-479 (VW 423)-
t  Ejection lever -T20143/1-

Grease bearing and friction surfaces with grease - G 000 450 02-.
   
1 - Bushing
q   for gearshift shaft
q   removing and installing → Chapter
2 - Gearshift shaft
q   with cover
q   Difference between the gearshift shafts in the area of the bottom shift finger -arrow-
q   Assignment → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
q   can be installed or removed on installed gearbox
3 - O-ring
q   insert into the round slot of the gearshift cover
q   insert with gear oil
q   always replace → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
4 - Cap
q   for gearbox bleeder
5 - Sealing ring
q   lever out with screwdriver or with ejection lever -T20143/1- → Fig.
q   installing → Fig.
6 - 20 Nm
q   2 pieces
q   always replace → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts

   
Difference between the gearshift shafts
A - previous gearshift shaft (up to 05.09) with 2 shift fingers -arrow 1- and -arrow 2- in the lower area of the gearshift shaft
l  This gearshift shaft is fitted on gearboxes where the reverse gear shift fork is installed on the shaft for reverse gear shift fork in the clutch housing.
B - modified gearshift shaft (as of 06.09) with 1 shift finger -arrow 3- in the lower area of the gearshift shaft
l  Fit this gearshift shaft on gearboxes where the reverse gear shift fork is positioned on the 5th/6th gear shift rod.

Remove gasket ring with ejection hook -T20143/1-

Insert gasket ring up to the stop with pipe section -MP3-479 (VW 423)-
  S34-0726
