Step 4: metal swarfs are not present in the fuel delivery unit and the fuel tank

–  Blow out the fuel low-pressure lines between the engine compartment and the fuel tank with compressed air.
–  Install fuel delivery unit:
t  Fabia II, Roomster, Rapid → Chapter.
t  Octavia II with front-wheel drive, Yeti → Chapter.
t  Octavia II with four-wheel drive, Superb II → Chapter.
–  Fill the fuel tank with 5 ltr. of diesel fuel and empty it again:
t  Fabia II, Roomster, Rapid → Chapter.
t  Octavia II, Superb II, Yeti → Chapter.
–  Replace fuel filter:
t  Fabia II, Roomster → Chapter.
t  Octavia II, Superb II, Yeti → Chapter.
t  Rapid → Chapter.
  Note
When removing the fuel dosage valve from the high pressure pump, there is the risk that dirt may get into the pump whereby damage to the pump could occur. Therefore, clean the fuel dosage valve as well as the high pressure pump as thoroughly as possible before removing, while doing so observe the rules of cleanliness when working on the injection system → Chapter.
   
–  Unscrew screws -arrows- and remove the fuel dosage valve -A- from the high pressure pump.
–  Carry out a visual inspection to assure that the fuel dosage valve as well as the high pressure pump do not contain any metal abrasion or swarf.
In the event that metal swarfs are present?
   Yes ⇒ step 5: metal swarfs are present in the high pressure pump → Chapter.
   No ⇒ step 6: metal swarfs are not present in the high pressure pump → Chapter.
