Removing and installing tensioning device for V-ribbed belt

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Supporting device -T30099-

t	Surface -T30099/1-

t	Locking pin -T10060 A-

Removing

–	Remove noise insulation → Body Work → Rep. gr.50.

–	Remove the front right wheelhouse liner → Body Work → Rep. gr.66.

–	First of all release the screw -1-.

–	Then release the screws -2- and -3- and remove the pendulum support.

–	Unscrew screw -2- at bracket for pump for coolant after-running -V51-.

Vehicles with auxiliary heating.

–	Slacken the clamp -1- and release the screw -2-.

–	Remove silencer for auxiliary heating.

Continued for all vehicles

–	Remove V-ribbed belt → Chapter.

–	Remove the cooling water tank cover → Body Work → Rep. gr.66.

–	Install supporting device -T30099- and support engine in fitting position.

–	Release the screws -arrows- of the assembly bracket at the engine.

–	Lower the engine by approx. 50 mm (measured at the engine mounting).

–	Expose electrical wiring loom -arrow-.

–	Release screw -1- and pull tensioning device for V-ribbed belt off bracket for auxiliary units.

Install

l	Tightening torque → Chapter.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order. However, pay attention to the following:

–	Guide tensioning device -1- for the V-ribbed belt into the bracket for the auxiliary units -3- and tighten screw -5-.

l	Observe the fitting location of the supporting piece -2-: Insert lug of supporting piece into the hole at the bracket for auxiliary units.

l	Observe dowel sleeve -4-.

–	Install the V-ribbed belt → Chapter.

–	Install pump for coolant after-running -V51- → Chapter.

–	Adjust the assembly bracket → Chapter.
